Bogota is at the heart of Colombia’s nightlife, being the vibrant capital city. If you’re wondering, “Where to go at night in Bogota?”, there are many answers, but one name stands out with its legendary and quirky concept: Andrés Carne de Res (Andrés D.C.).

Where is Andrés Carne de Res Located?
The original and most famous Andrés Carne de Res is located in Chía, a town just north of Bogota. However, since Chía can be difficult to reach and return from via public transport late at night, a second location called Andrés D.C. was opened in “Zona T” (also known as Zona Rosa), the entertainment hub of Bogota. During my trip, I chose to visit the Zona T location for its convenience.
What is the Venue Like?
The moment you step inside, you realize you’ve entered an incredibly colorful and unique world. The imagination behind the decor is limitless; every corner of the restaurant is adorned with eclectic details, neon hearts, and vintage trinkets.
Andrés D.C. spans four floors, each with its own distinct concept. The floors are named after the Divine Comedy: Hell (Infierno), Purgatory (Purgatorio), Earth (Mundo), and Heaven (Cielo). While you might enjoy a relatively quiet meal on one floor, you could be serenaded by a live wandering band on another. The top floor is a hotspot for weekend celebrations and turning into a full-blown nightclub where the party lasts until the early hours of the morning.
What’s on the Menu?
The menu is so extensive that it feels more like an encyclopedia than a food list. It offers a vast selection of beef, chicken, seafood, and vegetable dishes, alongside an impressive array of cocktails and local drinks. Click to view the menu!
One of the most iconic dishes you must try is “Lomo al Trapo” (beef tenderloin wrapped in a salted cloth). Cooked directly in the fire, this steak is famous for its tender texture and unique presentation.

To be honest, while the food is good, it might not be the absolute best gourmet meal you’ll have in Bogota. However, the venue doesn’t claim to be a fine-dining establishment. Its primary goal is entertainment; it’s all about the atmosphere, the show, and ensuring you have an unforgettable time.
When is the Best Time to Visit the Andrés Carne de Res?
I highly recommend visiting on a Friday or Saturday night. These are the liveliest nights when the energy is at its peak. Since it gets incredibly crowded, making a reservation in advance is a must.
At Andrés Carne de Res, start your evening with great food and conversation with friends, then head to the top floor’s disco to dance until dawn.

Cartagena : Colombia’s Colorful and Vibrant City
Perched on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, Cartagena (Cartagena de Indias) is truly the capital of color and joy. From the moment I set foot in Colombia, everyone shared the same piece of advice: “Don’t you dare leave without seeing Cartagena!” Taking these recommendations to heart after the quiet days in Bucaramanga, I set my sights on this vibrant city.
