COLORS Urban Hotel Thessaloniki
COLORS Urban Hotel is a stylish 4-star modern city hotel that offers a fresh and unique take on urban hospitality. Its prime location, impressive architecture, design-forward colorful rooms, and top-notch service make it one of the best answers to the question: “Where to stay in Thessaloniki?” The hotel’s multiple design awards further prove its quality.
Located at 13 Tsimiski Street, one of Thessaloniki’s busiest and most central areas, COLORS Urban Hotel opened its doors in 2016. It occupies a beautifully preserved 5-story building dating back to 1926, blending historic charm with contemporary aesthetics.
A Room with Character: COLORS Urban Hotel Thessaloniki
One of the standout features of COLORS Urban Hotel Thessaloniki is its uniquely designed rooms. Each of the 26 rooms has its own theme, inspired by cinema, music, nature, and more, giving every stay a distinctive character. Unlike conventional city hotels where rooms can often feel almost identical, COLORS Urban Hotel makes the room itself part of the experience.
From the moment I arrived and checked in, I was curious to see whether the hotel would live up to the impression I had formed online. I found myself paying attention to even the smallest details. Even the elevator caught my eye, with its retro design and bold colors creating a charming connection between the past and the present.

I stayed in a City View Room, and the turquoise and white walls immediately caught my attention when I walked in. The bold “I AM FAMOUS” lettering on the wall, vintage album covers, and exposed copper ventilation pipes gave the room a distinctly creative and eclectic feel. One of my favorite touches was the Bluetooth speaker, which was perfect for putting on some music and relaxing after a day of exploring Thessaloniki.

The Garden Bar
Located on the ground floor, The Garden Bar is one of Thessaloniki’s most tropical-inspired spots. With its exotic decoration and relaxing vibe, it’s open all day for coffee, snacks, or drinks. In the evening, it’s a cozy place to enjoy cocktails and conversation. I tried a few cocktails before heading out one night and had a great chat with the bartender, a memorable experience. Breakfast
In the morning, I went down to the hotel’s restaurant for breakfast. The service was immediate and personal. I told the waiter I needed a big breakfast for a long day of walking, and he took that to heart. My table was soon filled with fresh and delicious options, from a variety of breads and pastries to cheese, cold cuts, fresh fruit, and other breakfast favorites. Everything looked fresh and was nicely presented, making it easy to start the day on a satisfying note.
What I particularly enjoyed was the attentive and friendly service. Rather than simply bringing a standard breakfast, the waiter paid attention to what I wanted and made sure I had enough to keep me going throughout the day. With plenty of food, good coffee, and a relaxed atmosphere, it was exactly the kind of breakfast I needed before heading out to explore Thessaloniki on foot.

Friendly Service
Throughout my stay at COLORS Urban Hotel, the staff were warm, helpful, and always polite. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed, and whenever I had a question, someone was always happy to help. They answered my questions about the city and gave great recommendations on what to see, eat, and do in Thessaloniki.
I particularly appreciated how personal the service felt. Whether I was asking about a restaurant, looking for a particular place to visit, or simply trying to decide how to make the most of my day, the staff were approachable and willing to share their suggestions. Their knowledge of the city added an extra layer to my stay and made exploring Thessaloniki feel a little easier.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the combination of the hotel’s central location, colorful design, comfortable rooms, good breakfast, and friendly staff made COLORS Urban Hotel a memorable place to stay. If you’re planning to explore Thessaloniki on foot, it is also a convenient base for discovering the city’s historic sights, lively streets, restaurants, and waterfront.
